Christian counseling
Our care is clinically based and spiritually informed. Every provider here shares a Christian worldview, and faith is part of your sessions exactly as much as you want it to be. Everyone is welcome, whatever they believe.
How much faith do you want in the room?
You decide, and you can change your mind at any point. Pick one to see what sessions look like.
Bring it in fully
Ask, and your provider will gladly include prayer and scripture. Faith becomes part of how you understand what's happening and where you go from here.
- Opening or closing a session with prayer
- Scripture alongside the practical tools
- Room for questions about God, doubt and suffering
Keep it in the background
Your provider's worldview shapes how they care for you: with respect for the whole person, mind, body and spirit. Faith comes up when you bring it up.
- The same clinically based tools
- Faith there when you reach for it
- No pressure in either direction
Leave it out
If you'd rather not include faith, it won't come up. You'll get the same clinically based care, the same method, and the same respect.
- Proven, research-backed approaches
- Everyday language, no jargon
- Never imposed, never a condition of care
What we mean by spiritually informed
Clinically based means proven, research-backed approaches. Spiritually informed means we care about the whole person, and we don't use faith as a shortcut around hard things.
Not a way around
Faith isn't a fix-all
Reading more, praying more or trying harder won't make normal emotions disappear. Hard feelings are part of life, even for people of strong faith.
Not a sign of failure
Struggle isn't punishment
A hard season isn't proof you've displeased God. We believe God doesn't stand at a distance. He enters our difficulties and walks us out.
Something greater
You don't pedal alone
Everything in the Hope Method is something you can practice yourself. On your own, you can only go as far as your own strength carries you. Many people go further with God alongside.
“Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.”
Proverbs 11:14 (ESV)

Everyone is welcome
Our work is rooted in a Christian worldview, and you don't have to share it to be cared for well here. People come to us from every background and every kind of faith, including none.
Our support groups are hosted with Warren Church and open to anyone in the community.
What "spiritually informed" meansGetting started
The practical details, and the questions people ask most.
- Cost
- $75For 50 minutes, paid at the appointment. The same for individuals, couples and families.
- Insurance
- Not acceptedNo superbills. Cash, check, card, and HSA or FSA cards all work.
- Where
- In person or telehealth3231 Washington Rd., or from home for most concerns.
- Getting in
- Usually this weekEvery provider is taking new clients. We try to see people the week they reach out.
Do I have to be a Christian?
No. Everyone is welcome, whatever they believe. Faith is offered, never imposed, and it's never a condition of care.
Will you use the Bible in sessions?
If you'd like that, yes. Your provider will gladly bring in scripture and prayer. If you wouldn't, it won't come up.
Is this real counseling, or just prayer?
It's clinically based counseling. Our providers use proven, research-backed approaches and keep up their training. Faith sits alongside that when you want it to.
What happens in the first session?
It's a conversation about what you need, not an intake. Afterwards you decide whether to keep going, with no commitment either way. If you continue, a few forms and some homework come through the client portal.
Can I do this by telehealth?
Yes, for most concerns. You join from the SimplePractice Client Portal app or a web browser.
